Declassified? How Mossad Sabotages Hezbollah’s Communication Devices, Demobilising Over 1200 Hezbollah’s Members

Sky News Arabic has reported, citing an Israeli military source, that the Mossad successfully carried out a covert operation targeting Hezbollah’s communication infrastructure. According to the source, explosives were secretly inserted into the batteries of communication devices used by the Lebanese militant group. These explosives were remotely detonated by raising the temperature of the batteries, causing deadly explosions.

The explosive material used in the operation was PETN (Pentaerythritol Tetranitrate), one of the most powerful and stable explosives in the world. Its sensitivity to heat and friction makes it highly effective for such a mission, potentially explaining the precise detonation method. The explosion reportedly led to the deaths of over 10 senior Hezbollah members and incapacitated more than 1,200 of their foot soldiers.

The operation was successful due to an infiltration of Hezbollah’s supply chain, with the explosives being implanted before the devices even reached the organization. Further details reported by Al Jazeera claim that 20 grams of PETN were placed in each device, and Hezbollah had been using these compromised devices for the last five months.

This operation highlights the sophisticated tactics employed by Israeli intelligence agencies to counter Hezbollah’s military capabilities in the region.
