GENERAL BAKARE ASSUMES OFFICE AS 12TH GMD ARMY WELFARE LIMITED BY GUARANTEE

Major General AR Bakare has assumed office as the 12th appointed Group Managing Director (GMD), Nigerian Army Welfare Limited by Guarantee, (NAWL/G). General Bakari took over the office from Major General AA Fayemiyo.

Speaking during the handing and taking over ceremony held at NAWL/G Conference Room on 10 August 2022, Maj Gen Bakare commended the outgoing GMD for his sterling leadership and commitment in contributing his wealth of experience to the office. General Bakari urged officers and soldiers of the Command to redouble their efforts in the discharge of their duties and responsibilities to encourage optimum results in his time.

Earlier in his farewell address, the outgoing GMD Major General AA Fayemiwo thanked the Almighty God and the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya for the privilege to serve NAWL/G as GMD.

He expressed appreciation to officers and soldiers of NAWL/G for their support during his tour of duty. He urged them to accord same level of cooperation to his successor so as to enhance the welfare of officers and men of the Nigerian Army.
General Fayemiwo disclosed that he was proceeding to Army Headquarters as Chief of Account and Budget (Army).

Climax of the event were the signing of handing and taking over documents, handing over of the Command Flag, presentation of souvenirs as well as group photographs.
