Breaking News: Nigerians Sends SOS Alert as Anonymous Whistleblower Goes Missing

In a shocking development, Nigeria’s notorious anonymous whistleblower, PIDOM Nigeria, has gone missing, sparking widespread concern and an urgent SOS alert from citizens and activists. PIDOM, known for exposing government corruption and sensitive information over the past four years, has vanished under mysterious circumstances. His social media accounts have reportedly been compromised, raising fears of foul play.

An investigative expose published by renowned journalist David Hundeyin on Thursday detailed the alarming sequence of events leading to PIDOM’s disappearance. According to Hundeyin, someone posing as an associate of the whistleblower reached out to him through PIDOM’s X (formerly Twitter) account and attempted to hack into his WhatsApp account. The person claimed that PIDOM had been arrested by Nigerian authorities and was being detained at the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) in Abuja.

PIDOM, who has not been heard from since August 5, had gained notoriety for his high-profile leaks that embarrassed the Nigerian government on multiple occasions. His whistleblowing activities had even prompted warnings from the Presidency, invoking the Official Secrets Act to clamp down on civil servants leaking sensitive information.

Hundeyin revealed that despite PIDOM’s disappearance, someone continued to post on his social media accounts in an apparent attempt to conceal his absence. The supposed associate claimed PIDOM had been given “stringent bail conditions” that were nearly impossible to meet, and he was instructed to hand over PIDOM’s social media login credentials to Hundeyin.

However, Hundeyin raised concerns about the authenticity of the communication, suspecting that the person behind it was attempting to trace his location and compromise his security. Surveillance technologies typically used by Nigerian security agencies, such as the DSS and DIA, were allegedly employed in the effort to hack his WhatsApp account.

Adding to the intrigue, PIDOM’s Tether and Bitcoin addresses were reportedly linked to the frozen crypto funds of alleged sponsors of the #EndBadGovernance protests, intensifying suspicions of government involvement in his disappearance.

In a chilling conclusion, Hundeyin questioned whether the Nigerian intelligence agencies were trying to cover up PIDOM’s fate, possibly concealing torture or even murder. The incident has sparked widespread fear among activists and whistleblowers, who are now questioning their safety in the face of a potential crackdown on dissent.

This ongoing situation is a developing story, and all eyes are on Nigeria as the fate of PIDOM Nigeria remains uncertain.
